Diversity UK Founder Lopa Patel MBE was invited to the BBC London 94.9 Sunny & Shay show on Sunday 17th May 2015 to discuss the stereotypes of Asian women and how these impact the day-to-day lives of Asian women in the UK. The panel discussion also heard from Reena Parmar, professional makeup artist and founder of Beautiful Bride London and, live via phone link, from Canadian fashion blogger Esskayji.
The Sunny and Shay show is a live phone-in Asian news and entertainment programme hosted by husband and wife Sunny and Shay Grewal. The couple became household names after famously appearing in Channel 4’s hit reality TV Show ‘The Family’ in 2008, and in 2011 began presenting the Weekend Breakfast Show on BBC Asian Network. Now presenters of two BBC radio shows, one on BBC London 94.9 and BBC WM 95.6, the pair discuss issues relating to modern Asian culture as well as international and social issues.
