Congratulations to my friend Graham Brown-Martin whose book ‘Learning REimagined’, the third WISE Book, was launched on Wednesday 1st October 2014 by H.E. Khalid bin Rashid bin Salim Al-Hamoudi Al-Mansouri, Ambassador for Qatar in the UK and Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, Chairman of WISE at a special photographic exhibition and reception held at the RSA in London. Learning REimagined, explores the link between technology and learning. In his speech Graham said “diversity brings with it many innovations. Whilst globalization brings with it many benefits we must wrestle with the possibility of a homogenized culture which will surely impoverish future generations”. He also spoke about being able to look at other cultures and global perspectives for new ideas about learning.
Graham Brown-Martin, author of the book and award-winning photographer Newsha Tavakolian traveled to eleven countries on a mission to get under the skin of the debate around technology in education, to understand and report back on what is working and what are the obstacles as well as the triumphs. Part travelogue, part diary, part commentary, Learning REimagined takes the readers on a journey around the globe. The book features portraits of education visionaries and dialogues with thinkers whose ideas have sparked new projects and innovative approaches to unique situations.
