Sam Sethi interviewed Lopa Patel MBE, Founder & CEO of Diversity UK, on Marlow FM 97.5 radio station on Wednesday 20th March 2019. Lopa, a Digital Entrepreneur, is the founder of New Asian Post, Asians in Tech, Redhotcurry & Diversity UK – the latter being a think tank to research, advocate that promote new ideas for improving diversity and inclusion in Britain. The pair discussed how to improve diversity & inclusion in tech Britain; observing the white privilege of the past, the tech engineer bros culture and how these engineers are developing algorithms to be biased towards their views on sexism & racism which is why diversity really matters across companies and in the boardroom both in terms of gender and ethnicity. They also discussed how the non-western world is culturally different and is adopting the web differently to how it has developed in the West.
