Dr Ania Jolly from The University of Manchester gave the keynote speech on the  use of Graphene for Biomedical Applications at the Alumni Dinner on 26th November 2015. Since graphene’s isolation in 2004, it has captured the attention of scientists, researchers and industry worldwide. The world’s thinnest material, and one of the strongest, is set to revolutionise almost every part of everyday life. Dr Jolly, from the Institute of Inflammation and Repair, discussed graphene, its production and its application in the area of healthcare, an area in which graphene’s unique properties allow for ground-breaking biomedical applications. The dinner, which was hosted by Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice Chancellor of the University at the Royal Society in London, was attended by 100 alumni and guests.
