Wellbeing of Women hosted the final Wellbeing Literary Lunch of its 50th birthday celebration year with Alexander McCall Smith in conversation with Eve Pollard at Fortnum & Mason, Piccadilly, on 29th October 2014. Alexander talked to Eve about his about his life, works, and his new novels including Fatty O’Leary’s Dinner Party and Mma Ramotswe in Botswana in the forthcoming No 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency novel ‘The Handsome Man’s Deluxe Café’. In addition, as part of the Austen Project, Alexander was invited to reinterpret the work of Jane Austen’s classic novel Emma for a modern audience, due for publication in November. He later signed copies of these three books for guests.
